We are all increasingly dependent on our networks. As a small institute, NIAS recognizes the importance of co-operation not only with universities and organizations, but also with individuals.
NIAS associates are an important part of our global and local network. We aim to be mutually beneficial, as NIAS provides access to the institute’s resources and facilities, and our associates act as our ambassadors and serve as an important link also to non-academic arenas.
Who are they?
NIAS associates fall into three broad categories: academics, journalists and diplomats. All are experienced in modern Asian affairs, and have a strong interest in Asian issues. With a Nordic background, they have expertise in Nordic-Asian topics.
The varied backgrounds of NIAS associates are an asset to our institute. Only those with whom a mutually beneficial relationship is possible, are admitted as associates.
